“Fashion is the passion of turning imagination
into real”. The newly born designer Jocelyne Tohme works on building her line
and shaping her own identity. Born in an artistic family whereas her father and
brother are fashion designers themselves, she merged her gained experience
throughout childhood and her intensive studies to create a unique mix. Although
she majored in Business Administration-Auditing, her passion directed her
towards that “magic world”. She took private courses in ameliorating her sketching
techniques, mixing colors and working on the total look. Therefore, she decided
to “conquer this domain” and face it with her “own style”.
The changing point took place
when she was chosen as one of the candidates in Elie Saab’s school of
fashion in year 2008, Mission Fashion 08. In that program, every designer had
to prove his/her ability and to compete amongst others. She was elected three
times “Top Designer”, and she got lots of appreciation from Mr. Elie Saab
himself. The peak was when she made a jacket that could be transformed into a
bag. Nevertheless, she got the 2nd place in the competition.
Afterwards, she was chosen as the
official designer for many TV presenters and a judge in beauty pageants.
Her very first collection was
exposed at Pheonicia Intercontinental-Beirut in March 2009 during Mother’s Day
gathering. Jocelyne’s purpose of that collection was to show that every woman
could be fashionable and stylish in any situation; as a mom, pregnant woman,
bride or even when she’s at work.
She was interviewed by various TV
stations such as Fashion TV Arabia, MTV Lebanon, Heya TV and Rotana.
Working
on private collection for clients has always been the interest of her work.
Dealing with the client face to face and getting to fulfill her “abstract”
outfit satisfies the designer’s hard work and effort.
Moreover, knowing and studying
the client are the basics she depends on; which means she always works on a
certain level of quality, prestige, and total look.

colors that have special effects in the photos
ØSome precious stones if
recommended
ØHigh skills in working with
sequins(paillette) and beads
Prestige can be simplified as
creating the perfect outfit to the woman who appreciates it and wears it with
confidence and satisfaction.
Total
Look is
the complete image. A dress has to be accompanied be the convenient hair style,
accessories, make up, shoes…
To be up-to-date with the market
flow, she prepared a ready-to-wear collection containing long and short
dresses, corsets and wedding dresses.
